I used to believed in God as a creator, something like the being who installed the first brick of the universe, but this idea didn’t go beyond of the concept of a starter. The introduction of God as a divinity, like something or someone who can influence in my life was something different for me.
On the primary school I had studied (Christian or Catholic, I don’t know) religion an the bible, but it was just another subject with another book, I didn’t really took that like a philosophy or a way of life. Suddenly, some years after, I met a team from Singapore that told me about God, a men named Jesus and the at that particular time non understandable Holy Spirit.
While this moment I spent time trying to understand and I saw that all these teaching were useful, however it wasn’t easy in the beginning
I had been thinking about what I understand about a church, and I realize that my idea about what a church is has changed, too. I used to think of this like the building where the people go for listen to the mass and where the priest lives. Now, the Christian concept that I have learned teach me a new definition. It show how a community of persons who believe in God and follow the Christian tradition, make a family. And the idea of church leave the concept of a building and become in a word to refer to a Christian team.
So, now I can say that to have met this church and the people who worked in this team activated my faith and show me the way to know more about God.
The people who has been helping me on this growing was the team of the Hope Church. They teach me a church as a spiritual family, a family where the members help to who need. And they teach giving the example with their own work.
This has been a great change for me, now I’m a person who walk secure down the streets believing in God and trusting on his work.
